Description

NGC247 ( Caldwell 62)  is a rather dim but interesting galaxy in the Southern Skies. It contains a large void on one side and is positioned in the constellation Cetus. Its distance is about 11 Mio LJ and its diameter about 70000LJ. Gravitaionally is seems to be bound to NGC253, the Sculptor Galaxy. It also contains a lot of areas of high starbirth activity.
The image presented is a combination of LRGB and Ha, in total 142 frames.
